I have a dyson ball which is ok for carpet and laminate but the attachment thingy is rubbish on the carpet on the stairs . Shall I get a hand held vacuum ? Any recommendations? TIA

What about this rather than another vacuum?

No idea if it's any good though!

We have that attachment ImOnABreak - and it is very good. We have the Dyson Animal and use that for the stairs, along with the thin nozzle for the edges.

You do have to unwind the dog hairs from the bristles though - same as on the main vacuum brush.

I find the best way to clean the stairs is to brush them with the dustpan brush, then Hoover up the fluff at the bottom when I'm done.

Another one recomending that attachment. I got mine fromamazon for £30 IIRC. If you want a hand held one, I also have this as well. It is very good for a handheld, but now I have the attachment on the dyson I don't use it any more.

Damp cloth, then hoover. Was my job as a teen hated it...still do

Love the dyson handheld. £££ but worth it.

I bought a rubber carpet brush off amazon, so I quickly brush the carpet then can just vacuum up the bits with the nozzle. I have to say I bought the dyson attachment mentioned above and found it to be rubbish, but please note I have the slimline dyson so it could be that it doesnt work as well with this model.
