And I love it! smile

All my floors downstairs are lovely, and i was very dubious about the matt stone tiles in the kitchen. But all the floors have come up lovely, and soooo much easier (and drier) than how I usually do them.
Thank you very much mumsnetters. If I hadn't read so much about them in here, I don't think I would've ever tried one.

I remember the olden days, when I used to get giddy about new clothes/make up/boots, oh how times have changed grin.

What did you get? I'm seriously contemplating one and I am up for some recommendations

I got a Holme one. I got a bit consumed by my search, and read reviews of them all. This one was really quite cheap too (I didn't want to spend a fortune in case it was a waste of time). It's from amazon.

Stay away from the lakeland one, there have been a few posts on here about it, including from myself its not very good!

Someone said the vax one is a good choice smile

So do you hoover the floors first to get the bits up before you mop?

Do you think a steam mop would be good for karndeane? How much was yours Lost?

Yes, you've got to Hoover/sweep up first. Should be okay with karndean. The one I got does all floors and carpets too. It's only a cheap and cheerful one. It was only about £45, but I i ordered extra pads with it too, so i think the actual mop was under £40.
With the light coming in the window in the front room, I can slightly see the lines where I've gone on the wooden floor, but I can cope with it grin. The stone floor's come up lovely in the kitchen though.

Thanks Lost...might have to invest!

I got a Vax steam mop last month, and it is great. It dealt with the stickiness of marmalade making and cake baking really well (I'm really messy in the kitchen). And the area under the toddlers seat is relatively weetabix free for the first time in a while.

Hi

Can you use a steam mop on a parquet floor?

I would also recommend the Vax one. I tried a Black and Decker one but it was rubbish so I sent it back.

Can you use a steam mop to clean ceremic/porcelain tile floors ?
