my night out was great thanks, didn't get back until late, so am a bit tired today, but was quite restrained with the (I had to drive DD1 to pre-school this morning)

The sun came out so I had to do declutter the beds in the garden so my lovely snowdrops, crocuses(sp?) and daffodils looked beautiful.

I've mopped the kitchen floor (very easy after getting it all wet earlier) & am part way through making vat of soup.

DD2 has just woken so must go finish soup quickly!

But mid week alcohol is the naughtiest and therefore the best!

I have tidied the kitchen, loaded the dw again, made dd's packed tea, hung the washing and I am just about to text my friend to say I will be late with the paper as the cake in the oven is not finished (and seems to have sunk in the middle - help!) and I have to pick up ds and give dd her bag for tonight.

I was going to do another wash but I am out of drying room so that one can wait until tomorrow.

Very true about the school night drinking carrots!

I forgot that I also vacuumed downstairs. Soup is in the slow cooker ready for our tea which will be at 4pm today, so we're not in a terrible rush to pick DD1 up from pre-school at 5.

I'm sat on my bed with DD2 & the sun is streaming through my smeary windows. Think I might have to give them a quick clean!

Got soaked on the school run so had to change when we got back also have had to unblock toilet. <yuck!> Oh the joys of being a grown up!

Am wondering if the boiler's decided to pack it in....haven't had more than lukewarm water all day. I will not be impressed. Then again, it's done it before -- one day of lukewarm then return to normal services again the next day.

It was 7C here yesterday and -0.5 today. The riding school had frozen puddles in it. It is ok as long as it doesn't get windy though, it is the wind that makes it cold.

I remember you had daffies really early last year too bessie. Dd's birthday is at the end of March and we usually expect our daffies in time for her birthday, but only just!

I am very East scout - about 10miles away from the seaside! We do have a very sheltered garden - my mum lives at said seaside & her bulbs are always 2-3weeks behind mine!

I found a bee in the living room yesterday! poor thing was very dopey - not sure it appreciated being flung out of the window!

We have a really cold wind here too. The rain had bits of hail in.[Brrrr]

Ahhh, envious of bessie's seaside. Toddler loves the beach & sea. We're inland but still close enough that we can go to the beach for an afternoon without it being difficult.

Think maybe the boiler's okay -- just looked at the thermostat and it's the same as it was this morning (our normal daytime temp). Maybe I'm just paranoid.

Maybe you should have a hot bubble bath just to test it out Scout Purely in the interests of home maintenance of course.

we do it as after school routine(empty lunchbags and wipe/coats,bags and shoes away/dd2 showers or has a bath while read with ds/organize activity to keep them amused while i do tea)

I'm impressed that TS ate the dinner tonight. However, he ate all of the peppers, onions and tomatoes but left the meat. It was an all-in-one slow cooker dinner and the beef was falling apart. He likes beef so not sure what that was all about (other than maybe too much garlic).

I've hit the pre-TS bedtime drag. This last hour just seems to go on forever. Even he always seems restless.

Hi Neenook - welcome to the thread. I hope you like lots of and chocolate biscuits as you work Do you have dcs? If so what age(s) are they? I have a 10 yo dd and 7 yo ds.

I can't believe so many on you live in East Anglia. Is EA huge? I feel quite left out now.

I have made another cake as I wasn't convinced about my earlier effort. I am sure dh and the dcs will help to declutter the reject one.

That has meant more dishes and more worktop cleaning.

I haven't really sorted my afternoon routine out zoo as dd does a few activities and it is different every day. Your idea about lunch boxes etc seems a good one. I will have to think about it a bit harder because the dcs object to jobs less if they are routine.

I am off to have my left over haggis etc but have made ds some wholewheat spaghetti which he can have with pesto. I don't normally do separate meals but I think he has had haggis overload.

He is currently nearly asleep stroking a guinea pig so I know about the flagging child too Scout.

Toddler's alternating between playing with his train and laying on the floor cuddling Bunny going "Awwww, Bubby." (Bunny is his stuffed rabbit and his favorite in the whole wide world.)
