Abikan
Hi, I bought a nice tablecloth and runner and bought some of the clear plastic you get from dunelm mill (cheap) and secured it all with table clamps. Looks nicer than the vinyl coated stuff/oilcloth. Might be a bit late posting, but hope it helps
I noticed that. Not sure where in the world you are Sue But there ia a range of shops call Abrikan (sp?) and they often have some nice oil cloth type material.
That's a good plan. I just made a garden kneeler out of an old tent (not all of it obviously), oilcloth would have been smarter.
Dunelm don't have a brilliant selection at the moment though.
i knew
it actually says it in the bumf about how to do links, strikeouts and smilies
Please dont let them worms over here. dont need worms on top of cystitis/possible kidney infection.

Good luck. I have got some lovely table cloths from the same shop and have made bags out of the pvc clothe for shopping as well as having tabls clothes for all occasions. 1 for art and crafts and 1 for eating, and one for eating with adult guests.
Oooo, look at that - a colon followed by a capital O makes a
. Who knew?
Oh DidEinsteins. Can
pen. Worms:all over the shop. Have to start the whole process from scratch now - I didn't think of that.
I have table cloth clips to keep the oilcloth (well pattern pvc coated) table clothes onto the table. ime lo are nightmares for shifting it about whislt leaning on it. If you use the clips (i think a couple of pounds from dunhlem mill (sp)) then it wont matter so much if you dont have a lot of over hang.
Thanks npin. I have emailed them to ask their advice
. You'd think I had nothing else to do wouldn't you? Procrastination.
Look for the tablecloth company on ebay the do ones 60" wide 150cm in a few patterns
That's the dilemma tassisssssss. The vinyl is better value but other than the polka dots, all horrible
.
Polka dots are my plan B.
Do you need PVC or will vinyl do?
140 cm here
Local shop has cutesy designs or vegetables
. I'm very rural so not much choice.
Still googling......
Have you tried a local fabric shop? They often have rolls of it in ours and it's much cheaper than JL..
Search online for PVC rather than oilcloth, it's loads cheaper (though exactly the same
)
(it's like searching for laundry bin instead of linen basket in google - one will get you argos, the other will bring up JL and White Company
)
Gah! tableclothshop is 130cm for the pvc (oilcloth) one so even worse. John Lewis waaaaaaay too expensive for the ones I like.
Am thinking newspaper......
No, me too
I just like the way square cloths hang on a round table. Thinking that oilcloth/pvc won't hang as well because it's still but not sure about that. also, if it's round you'll constantly be moving it to make sure it's level on the table (or is that just me
)
Good plans all, I think you're right about every cm making the difference.
Do you think a square would hang better Jareth? I've never had a round table before.
ones on tableclothshop.co.uk are 140cm diameter. i think that would be OK. I think the extra 5cm would make the difference.
I would get a 135cm square, I think it'd look better, but if you want a round one:
www.johnlewis.com/Search/Search.aspx?SearchTerm=pv c+tablecloth#1
I have the same problem as my Ikea table is 116cm wide. You need to go to John Lewis as they have a few oilcloth fabrics on the roll that are 150cm wide.
My round table is just over 105cm. The rolls of oilcloth are all 135cm wide and the pre-cut round ones are also obviously cut from the same rolls so are the same width. Is that enough of an over-hang do you think or will it look crap? I'm worried it'll stick out at the edges if I don't have enough to spare but I can't find anything bigger.
Cloth ones (which I have) are not really an option, I need a wipe-clean one as I will be child-minding so expecting lots of mess and felt-pen marks.
