how do you go about expressing at work, with it all being sterilised, without taking in the whole steriliser????
Also can you keep the milk sterilised, and how do you carry it about without getting warm etc.........????????

sterilise it all before yuo go and then wrap it in clingfilm.
do you have a fridge at work?

I did read somewhere that EBM can be kept at room temp for 8-11 hours.. so you should be ok anyway!

I used to sterilize everything in the morning and then carry it in a cool bag, I had this and it keeps everything sterile while you carry it about. If you will be expressing more than once during the day the breast pump should still be fine as long as you keep it in the cool bag or in the fridge between times.

Starlover is right about the clingfilm, and a sealed bottle to express into will stay sterile for some hours.
Personally I would prefer to refrigerate it immediately after expressing as I found mine went sour quite quickly!
With all these little lunchpacks around these days you should also be able to find a little coolbag-type arrangement to suit if you don't have access to a suitable fridge at work.
For summer I kept a coolblock at work and tucked that in next to the refrigerated milk for the journey home.
I did have a Boots Travel Steriliser on hand in case of emergencies for ds (I was such a worrywart LOL) but I never used it.
And I always kept in mind that breastmilk is supposed to be full of natural antibacterials and therefore fairly resilient to being transported...
Good luck Danni05. It is worth the hassle, or I found it so. Being able to keep b/f was one less thing I had to beat myself up with over having to go back full-time

oh, and I bought some extra gel packs to put in the bag to make sure it stayed cold enough all day.

I had the same set as beansmum but I used ice-packs (like the ones you use for camping/picnics) instead of the gel-packs as it kept it cooler. I had no fridge in work so this was a necessity.
