Would you apply for a job if it stated that a satisfactory level of PC literacy was required, and your only experiance was using the internet ?

Can't decide wether to apply or not.

This exactly what is says ....

'Duties include outbound calls only to businesses throughout the UK and Ireland. No selling or appointment setting required. Entering data on a computer base. Training will be provided although a satisfactory level of PC literacy will be required.'

My only experiance of using a PC is using the internet and doing Word documents.

I would go for it Nutty- you could say that you are computer literate but just don't have experience with databases, maybe?

From that description I think you'd be fine.

Oh ok, will ring them on Tuesday then.

I do generally pick things up ok so I wouldn't be particularly worried about using a database as long as I was shown how to do it.

Anyone know if that type of thing is generally hard or easy ?

If they use Excel or something then the help files are pretty comprehensive nowadays. I'm sure you'd pick it up really quickly. Good luck

I work in IT and I would expect someone who is PC Literate is able to turn on a PC, login, load an application, know how to type - even if only with two fingers, know how to open a document, and save it, and navigate to the correct directory. Also know the difference between logging off, shutting down and just turning the monitor off. All of which you would have to do in order to use Word.
So if you can use the Internet as well, you are doing well. Mention that you have a computer at home as that immediately implies that you are PC literate and a lot better than most of my users
