New Job as a home care worker

Hi, This week i've just done the induction course to be a home care worker and next week i will be shadowing a carer.
And i'm shitting myself!!
This is a total change of career for myself as i've always been in an office setting, but i've been doing voluntuary work for the last 4yrs whilst my DDs were small.
Been reading the carers handbook and they are VERY strict on everything and just cleaning a window (that has not been agreed to before) can get you into deep trouble.
I know they have to be like this to protect the clients but now i understand why they wont do certain things because it is their job on the line.
No wonder they are always looking for care workers.
I'm determined to give this a go as i do think older people are better off in their homes as hospitals are hot-beds of infection.
Does anyone do this kind of work and is it just me freaking out of the responsibility.
Can't be anymore difficult than looking after young children can it?
Once i get to know the clients then i think i'll be OK.
