Love'em dearly but today was one of those mornings when I just looked at them (arguing over toothbrushes, leaning over the bath to pour water over me (I was in the bath) and looking deeply offended and puzzled when I said I might like to bath myself, thank you very much, and just generally being VERY VERY NOISY) when the only thing I could think was thank f I'm going to work today. Am I very very bad? (And to think, over the weekend all I could think about was having another...temporary madness)

lol mine are probably older than yours, 3 teenagers in full bloom, but getting them up in a morning is horrendous, mine you getting them to bed at night is just as bad.. so glad to get to work in the afternoon's,

The best thing I liked about working was being able to read in peace on the train in and having a lovely lunch hour to myself !

oh yes, it's great to retreat into an adult world! where noone is incontinent, noone possets milk on me every hour, and noone cries because their drink is in the wrong cup!

know exactly how you feel. I was so happy to drop the kids at the childminder this morning. Ds2 is 7 months old now and constantly grabbing at things, which when they belong to ds1 leads to shrieks and snatching. Trying to get them both fed, washed and dressed this morning seemed so much harder than usual, so I needed to get to work for some peace!

Mothernature - No horror stories about teenagers thankyou. But of course, mine aren't going to do any teenager things, they'll get themselves up and breakfasted, they'll do all their homework (and remember where they put it); they'll never take out their boyfriend angst on me (they'll be far to busy practising the violin and heading up the school debating society)...and they'll never argue, steal each other's make-up, or wear outrageous clothes .

In the meantime, if they could just accept that the blue toothbrush is DD1's and the purple one is DD2's I would be happy. And DD1 could do with sussing that when DD2 gets a picture of hers that snatching it back is not usually in the best interests of the picture. (said picture, now in several bits in the bin...both children howling with anguish...me with no make-up on and ten mins to get the train...hello Monday morning)

I don't exactly look forward to going to work but I do look forward to the end of the week and spending time with my DD, and that's what i enjoy about getting out of the house and doing something different, the fact that i have the opportunity to miss her.
