So, after 8 years of being a SAHM, I had my first interview today. This was following on from a horendous online application form. Got shortlisted for interview, had to do 2 online aptitude tests ( 1X verbal reasoning, 1 X mathematical reasoning) prepared a 10 minute presentation for the interview. Interview (with presentation ) was today.
Feel like a complete failure. Why can't I sell myself well in interview???? Panel were impressed by the amount of research I had done, but I think I have let myself down in the interview, can't sell myself even though I would be perfect for the job. Sorry, just venting.

When will you hear if you've been successful or not? Don't do yourself short you could well have nailed it!!!

Thanks rainbow, will hear tomorrow. Part of me is thinking I don't want the job even if they offer it to me.

But I put so much into the application process, it would be a shame not to!

It's a great salary, but by the sounds of it, they need someone like me more than I need them.

Just don't know what to do. Although I may not have any choice in the matter ifkwim

Why wouldn't you want the job if it was offered?
Even if you don't get it (& you absolutely might) it's got you back in the saddle after a long time of not working.

I was recently interviewed for an internal role. It was awful. Really awful. Two hours of hideous badly phrased questions. I literally finished up, left and had a cry.
I got the job.
I saw the paperwork later and I had met the criteria on every single sodding question so why it felt so awful, I don't know.

I don't understand - do you want the job ? If not why did you apply ?

I absolutely wanted the job that was advertised. But it sounds like the job is so much more than was on the job spec. They are looking to recruit the third person for the role since it was introduced, less than 12 months ago. Sounds like a very stressful position.

Maybe i'm subconsciously preparing myself for defeat.

I think some jobs sound more scary in paper!

Not sure about the staff turnover - but maybe they weren't up to it and you are? We all cope differently!
