I feel really nervous!it is for a different role than the one I was trained for and did before dc. It is a competency based interview and I have no idea how to prepare or approach it. Has anyone got any tips please?

Okay, here's what everyone is going to tell you: "be calm, it's no big deal, blah, blah, blah" etc etc
And here's some realistic advice: Be nervous as much as you feel like being. The important part is not to feel nervous when the interview starts. Yes, it is a big deal, and yes, it sounds scary, but after you go past the nervous stage, BE CONFIDENT! This is the most important thing to remember. You can do it, you are awesome, and you can eat three cakes after the interview, regardless of what the result of it is. Grin I've had a total of 6 interviews in my life. In 5 of them I was calm until the actual interview started. And when it did, I barely said a word. On my latest one I was like "screw you, nerves", I was confident, and I was calm, because my life and career didn't depend on a simple interview. People will tell you it's not God knows what, trying to make to feel better. Personally, it makes me even more nervous. Listen to your inner voice. Think before you act. Be smart and even a little cruel. Oh and btw, outfit is essential. Don't wear "screaming" colors (i.e. electric green), but also don't wear all black. Hope it goes well.

For a competency interview you need lots of examples in the following format
S Situation - describe a situation
T Task
A Action - what did you do
R Result - describe how the outcome was resolved positively

You can look up examples I can't really remember the T

Eg
S x presented with a problem
T
I did .... To resolve the problem
R - the result was the problem was resolved .....

Good luck
