I just bought a new PDA which I need for the juggling act of work & motherhood.

And the salesman on the phone said 'You'll have to tell your husband that you've made a major purchase today or he'll worry what has happened to the bank account'. OH MY GOD!

I nearly launched into a tirade about my being the main breadwinner and that I didn't have to clear it with my husband every time I buy something. But decided it wasn't worth venting my spleen at some chap in a call centre - I'm so sleep-deprived & grumpy I would probably have gone way overboard. But OH MY GOD. Has the whole women's lib movement not hit Orange yet??? I mean a PDA is obviously something a working woman would want isn't it - it's not exactly homemaker equipment?

That would have really ped me off!! I've been in that postion so many times when I've bought saome shoes or soemthing and someone has said, "ooh you'll have to hide them from the husband" and I'm wanting to shout that I'm that main breadwinner so sd off!
Actually this post has made me enough that I may just have to accept thatr permanent jobh I've been offered and stop noncing about 'feelancing' and never getting paid!! I want my financial independence back....
