Why are they always based in England?

One of those doesn't even pay a salary.

I notice they require uni degree's ,yet the main thing they need is people skills, - which if you have spent 25 years in school you are unlikely to have ? - it would be better to recruit ex-fraudsters just out of prison.

One of them isn't even a clickable link.

I guess if I wanted it enough I'd c&p

I don't though.

Miserable lot. I want to be a fraud detector. I can detect fraud when DS says he's washed his hands, when DH says he'll just be 5 more minutes, and when the cat says she's starving and hasn't been fed for days. I'd be perfect.

It would help if you included the location.....but even before clicking the links I suspect they are all south of Watford gap

I suspected that, too, but someone seems to have had the sense to showcase jobs from around England the country.
But, yes, the jobs noticeboard is usually SE-heavy which is why I don't look at it very often.

Also, salaries would help. Competitive, my arse. In defence of fraud detectors, I would be interested in that role if it weren't 300 miles away.

How about finding us some part time/location flexible stuff too...there's a huge pool of women who would like to work around school hours...which rather precludes full time commuting positions!!

pretend · 10/12/2015 19:37

Yes that's it - mumsnet is able to provide every member with the perfect highly paid job that fits round school hours....

Then again, maybe not. Quit bitching and find your own bloody job!

Hi folks, thanks for all your feedback; we'll keep in it mind when selecting jobs in the future. Out of interest, is there anything else you think we're missing here, in terms of useful top-level information?

I would say location and salary range. It's standard in my indistry to advertise a range. I won't bother looking at an ad if the range doesn't go a bit higher than I'm paid now.

Report
HeadDreamer · 11/12/2015 19:49

I mean salary range in the summary before the ad. That's if the salary is advertised. I see the second one does.

Amy - don't have such boring jobs! Surely a person wishing to work for Tesco could find a way in to that organisation without Mumsnet.

Bobandkate what a weird message! Firstly, full time primary and secondary education plus degree would usually take 17 years, not 25.Plus, you do understand that even the privatest of private schools rarely have one to one teaching - most education is taught in fairly large classes and involves constant interaction with both teachers/lecturers and peers, so a fairly good way of developing 'people skills.' But I bet you went to the university of life, didn't you Wink
Irt the actual post, agree salaries would be useful.

silvermantela - i was making the slight point that text book geeks may lack the social dexterity that spy hq may require, its one thing to have teachers and fellows pupils to chat too,but another when you meet the devious people out in the real world.
I myself, regret spending too much time in school and not enough time outside and feel institutionalised.
25 years was the average age you might finish uni and enter the world of work - john holt wrote a book about the shortcoming of teachers going straight from uni to teaching at this age .
But i accept some people, by some miracle, posses both the oxford degree and have dazzling networking / leadership skills - but again i submit these SS will have been developed outside school life .
When i served on a jury, all my fellow jurors were terrified of being the foreman despite their gregarious nature,we had to draw straws.
The wealthy may have the edge if the job expects a lot of hobnobbing ,as the children may be used to going to posh restaurants, theatre, polo, sking etc.
Interesting " in the war " SOE actively sought out convicts as they had the powers of persuasion and could recruit agents .
I'm not an ex convict, thou sometimes wish so.
