Work

confused over actual gross pay

Salary Scale: NJC Scale 5 (pt range 22-25)
£22,062 to £24,027pa (pro rata)
Hours: 36 hours, 40 weeks per year

I am currently looking at a job in a school, having never worked in one before, and have c and p'd the above from the advert. Can someone please explain the whole pro rata thing to me and what the actual monthly gross salary would be? I don't know whether it's pro rata because it's 36 hours rather than 37.5 or because it's only 40 weeks per year. I need to go out now so wont be able to respond until later but thanks in advance for any replies.

I would imagine you would get 40/52*the salary you get.
IF you are paid in 12 equal amounts, that would be a min of £1410/month.
I don't work in a school tho, so easily could be wrong, but thats how I'd calculate.

You can do it as 40/52 but there may also be an element of holiday pay to add.
