Retraining after 10 years out of the workforce

I was thinking I could retrain as a beautician and work from home.

I've always loved lotions and potions and we have a reception room at home that is barely used.

How long does it take to train up as a beautician?

I wouldn't look forward to telling my mother. She'd be like, "For this you go to university twice?!"

No idea how long it takes but,
If you are going to do anything from home then you need serious marketing budget to let people know you are there.
Probably need something in planning permission to operate a business from a domestic property, also some plumbing/building work to put a sink and the appropriate lighting in. Also you'd need indemnity insurance. And all the equipment.
Might be better off retraining then work from a hotel spa/existing beauty salon?

(and after a recent thread on here,, would you be using antiseptic wipes inside vaginas??? Grin)

There's already a sink in there. It used to be a utility room. Lighting wouldn't cost much.

Beauty therapists - what do you like/loathe about your work? I'm intrigued.
