New job- childcare stresses - opinions required please

I have been offered a new job today which I have to let them know tomorrow if I am going to accept.

  • when I first applied it was 2 days per week, then in interview they mentioned it being 3 mornings a week. I said that was no good for me. they have offered me a day and half per week.

  • the job itself is nice and normally I would jump at it.

  • I have moved to new area. this afternoon I phoned around childminders - they are all more expensive than old area plus none of them can take both dd and ds . So if I take this job I will have to send them to two childminders with all the logistics of drop offs and pick ups that entails.

  • I have found a cm to do drop off and pick up for dd to school. I have also found a cm near to my new job who can take ds for weds morning and thursday all day. However, Ihaven't met or visited either.

  • do I take a gamble and accept the job before sorting out cm or do I decline and save myself a lot of stress.

I am working partly for the money and partly for my sanity.

All opinions on what I should do gratefully received. Have to let them know by tomorrow lunchtime.

    Thnaks

Why don't you take it and say you're not able to start for a week/however long it'll take you to sort it out? Do you have a dh/dp and if so, can't they do some of the dropping/collecting?

The job starts beginning of Sept so there is plenty of time to sort it out. Dh won't be able to do any of it as he works long hours and has long commute into London by train

I guess my worry is finding suitable cm for both ds and dd. I have used the same cm fofr 5 years and feel a bit nervous about finding and interviewing new ones and also how all the timings will work out in the mornings. I don't know my new area well enough to know what the traffic will be like I guess!

Accept the job.
If it cvame to it you coild always retract your acceptance and explain why. I know its not nice but people do do it. Anyway as you have until September you shouldbe able to find something suitable by then hopefully

That is sort of what I am thinking...

It is a nice little job, not often you see them advertised so tempted to take it and sort out cm later..
