I have applied for this post in a local estate agency. I applied for a job back in June as a viewing assistant and was pipped to the post by an applicant with previous experience. The manager rang me to say that I had interviewed really well and he would keep my CV on file.
I suppose my question is, do I stand any chance at all if other applicants have experience? I feel I have a lot to offer and would love the chance to break into this field of work, it just seems to be very hard to get a foot in the door unless you are an 18 year old trainee. Sadly that isn't me....I'm 49 and have had nearly five years off to concentrate on my DCS who I had when I was in my late thirties. I have a decent string of qualifications, secretarial training and 25+ years of working with the public in roles as a medical secretary and surgery receptionist. I would love to broaden my horizons and try something different.
Any pearls of wisdom gratefully received.
