Hi all, I have been offered a new job as employee and will be signing the contract this week. I currently get housing benefit and tax credits (because I was working as self employed until now).When do I need to notify them about my changes? Can I wait until I get my first paycheck, otherwise we might be a bit tight.
Tax credits give you four weeks from when you notify them so it won't change straight away. Likewise I would just notify HB that you will be in work from etc...and then they can work it out. Congrats on the new job, it's great news in this climate.
