Can I give hours and location as an incentive at a job interview?

I've got an interview tomorrow for a weekend receptionist job, which I want because we badly need the money, and the hours and location are perfect (which is unusal in our small, rural market town). Its not my dream job but it sounds reasonably interesting. If they ask me why I want the job, can I say 'because the hours are just what I need and the location is perfect' or does this sound like I am more interested in my own convenience than the actual work? (I would give other reasons as well - ergo I enjoy working as part of a team/meeting a diverse range of people etc).

It's a long time since I've had a job interview and I'd appreciate some advice.

I would think the honesty is fine but certainly needs to be said after the other reasons you mentioned. It will show that your motivation will remain if it fits with your life. Good luck :)

I agree - you need to lead on the other reasons and convince them you're perfect for the job because you have the right skills, attitude and enthusiasm. No matter how close and convenient a position, if you hate it/don't have the right personality for it, an employer will worry that you won't be good at it or stay long.

Show your potential employer that you're the right fit for the job, and then use the proximity and fit of hours as a final clincher as to how you're perfect for them (not them for you).

Good luck!
