I'm not planning to take a year off again TBH, prob just 6 months? Main things that worry me are:
- they will be mega pissed off and think I'm unprofessional - I will start showing before my 3 month probation is up and they'll find a reason to bin me - I will have a horrendous first trimester (I was OK with DS) and it'll render me unable to keep it quiet
On the plus side, they did try and headhunt me two years ago when I was pg with DS and so I know they really want me for the role. The job was advertised as temp-perm but they have chosen to offer me the perm position outright.
Don't worry about it, these things happen. It wont be the shock of the century that a woman of childbearing age with 1 young dc is pregnant again. But you wont get maternity pay, only maternity allowance which is not as much.
Well not exactly the same but I found out I was pg day after successful interview for a temporary promotion. Despite unexpected absence for a year, they wanted me back again. If you can show commitment to them in the long run, it really shouldn't matter. And, congratulations!
Didn't return to my previous job after ds, instead been working on a new biz venture (unpaid). Decided we needed some cash so went for a contract role I was phoned about. Got the job and they offered me a perm ccontract.
It's very well paid and a 'big' job iykwim. I feel wretched - stupid, unprofessional. The lot. We'd been trying for dc2 before this job came up and were having some time off.
