Jobshare - any tips?

I'm back to work soon doing 3 days a week in a jobshare. Has anyone any tips on making a jobshare work seamlessly? I'm hoping that it should all be fairly straightforward but would be interested to hear of other people's experience!

My top tip from working with people in a jobshare pre-kids (and interestingly, neither of them had dependents, it was a "quality of life" thang) is they and we all found it helpful that for a short bit of the week they were in together.
Do you have handover/catch-up time factored in with your counterpart? Is he/she new to your organisation? Are you both new?

Hi there, no we are not going to be there at the same time! I am doing Wed/Thur/Fri. My plan was to be as organised as poss before leaving the office on Fri and to leave detailed notes for the Monday & Tuesday person. I'm hoping this will work! How did you sort out e-mail? Did you each have your own email address and then set up a "forward" to the other person's e-mail for the days when you were not in the office?

I'm not in a jobshare myself but the colleagues in question had a shared mailbox as well as their own and Outlook was set up for them both to retrieve from shared but send and receive other mail only in their personal box. They shared a Calendar.
I am sure you will be superorganised Bunyanvillas but...will they?

Hmm ... good idea regarding a shared mailbox! Think I will do that.
