I'm due back at work in 1 week after 52 weeks maternity leave. Still waiting to have my part time hours approved and have been told will need to go on 6 weeks full time training, fair enough but work unsure when that will start, might not be until March. Should they be paying me from the date i was due to return??

Are they saying that you can't work until you have had your training in March? They should be paying you from the end of your mat leave regardless of when they manage to do your training.

Yes they have'nt yet organised a training group for me to join and after a meeting with my manager 3 weeks ago she hasn't been able to give me anymore info. I'm owed 4 weeks holiday so can they make me use that until they are ready for me to start?

They can't make you use your holiday and training should have een arranged before your return.

Are they saying you can't return full stop before training or that you can returnon light duties whilst waiting for training (still not good)

Are you changing your hours stated in your original contract at all?

Yes they had a group of new employees starting training this week and asked if someone dropped out would i be willing to start back a week earlier which i was willing to do, if not i would have to wait until next training group which they had'nt got a date for.

I've requested to go from full time to 3 days, days to suit business needs, which my manager thought was a reasonable request, yet i'm still waiting for this to be agreed. I first contacted my manager regarding this back in November.

When you contacted your manager in Nov they should have arranged a flexible working meeting and given you paperwork to fill in before the meeting.

If flexible working, ie 3 days a week was agreed then you should have received a change in contract letter.

You should have naturally been on this weeks training course and you shouldn't be expected to wait to return after your return date.

Someone has cocked up.

Thanks for advice, didn't want to go behind my managers back, but looks like i'm gonna have to contact HR.
