Best job ever for the right person! I loved one of my son's NICU nurses so much that she is his Godmum and a close friend. And I wrote an article about the nurses which was in the Nursing Times about how the best SCBU nurses nurse the parents as well as the babies.. because they need it! (And the less good ones.. don't!)

GOOD LUCK!!!

What SCBU is it JG? What hospital?

JenumGeranium · 18/01/2006 08:38

Its Hillingdon Hospital in West London SJ.

I am going to try and phone again this morning!

This really is the job I would love to do! I am a trained nursery nurse but I have only worked in a private day nursery before although I did work with babies from 3 months! I much prefered the babies the the older children as I prefer the looking after bit rather than the education side of it!

Phones do seem to ring and ring on neonatal units.. staff as so busy. (She says with some feeling having tried to sleep when phone rings all night..!)

Yes this is what I thought. Do you think I should keep trying?

It does say on the info about the job to phone to arrange a visit.

Could you not pop by, leave your phone number and ask someone to call you when they've got a chance?

Report
JenumGeranium · 18/01/2006 11:42

Yeah I guess that would be an idea!

I just so want to go and have a visit!
