I would like to ask some things if I may-though I haven't yet read all the relevant threads, sorry if these ramblings are "dumb". BACKGROUND: We moved to get into a better (according to OFSTED and SATS stats) state primary. Of course it's also an expensive area. DD1 (9.4) was identified G&T at previous school age 6 (I was informed months after the fact, I had guessed from her descriptions of extra classes for the "clever clogs"!). This was not in numeracy, she's an all rounder otherwise. DD2 (7 today) is older in her year due to birthday and more academic still.
I was told at the PTE in October among other good results that DD1 is reading at age 13.9 and DD2 is off the scale of the test they used at 9+, and that teacher said she was the top of the class. But nary a word about G&T. The policy is on the website, a cut-and-paste type thing that really only seems to mention numeracy. So is it possible that they AREN'T on the register? Can the school decide that numeracy = gifted, the rest is not G&T? I suppose it's possible that this is the Best School in the Universe and this sort of ability is normal for it. Or are they afraid of Extreme Yumminess? How can I ask without scaring the teachers? (I've already had to complain over something else and it really makes me cringe, I think they are doing well with 30 kids really).
