My DD had her first UTI in January when she was almost nine months old. She had another one in May. She's had two of the tests (ultrasound and the cystourethrogram (sp?)) and the second test confirmed that she has reflux (of urine from her bladder into her kidney) and that this is why she is prone to UTIs. The paed when pressed said that the reflux was Grade 3 (on a scale of 1-5). She has a test next month to see if the UTIs have scarred her kidneys. She's on a daily dose of antibiotics, which I now have to hide in her milk as she has taken a big dislike to the syringe!
I just want to know if anyone else has been through this. I've been told she needs to be on the antibiotics until she's four! It's not a big deal in the big scheme of things, but a worry nonetheless.
