Does anyone else get mild nausea when you lay down at night?

I know this is a strange one, but it has been bothering me for a while. I get mild nausea, sort of in waves, when I lay down at night,. It is not every night, but it is most nights. Some nights worse than others. I have IBS, so I wondered if it was related to that. Then I wondered if it was an inner ear imbalance?

Anyone else experience this or I am just weird ?

Do you have IBS? Or an ear problem? Clutching at straws, but wondering what causes it.

Could it be anxiety?

I used to get it when I went through a panicking about house fires at night, when DH was away, stage.

Do you feel your throat burning a little aswell?

I do when I am desperately tired. I know I need to go to sleep when it happens.

Same as bruffin - when Im really tired and finally get a chance to rest (even sitting down for a minute) I feel v ill and have been physically sick.

Does it happen if you lie down during the day (when more rested)?

Yes, sometimes it happens to me, but I think it is the same as Mousey and bruffin, shear bloody, complete and utter tiredness.

I get this - in my case it's related to an inner ear imbalance. It's worse when I lie on my back, and sometimes I get feelings of dizzyness as I'm falling off to sleep, which at times are bad enough to make me sick. It's very unpleasant.

Hmmmm.....no burning in the throat. Yes, very tired, but then aren't we all? I never lie down during the day so don't know if it would happen then. It happens when I sht my eyes, come to think of it.

Yup - I get this. When you shut your eyes the room starts to spin slightly or you get a vague lurching feeling which makes you feel sick.

I had a really bad attack last year, but that time it happened when I got up and moved, and stopped when I lay still. I was incapable of doing anything for two days - horrible.

Yes, I have just started getting this. When I lay down at night to go to sleep, I feel sick. And it is a "head" sickness, not a "stomach" sick feeling, if you know what I mean. It interferes with me getting to sleep and is frustrating. :( My chiropractor (who is really into nutrition) said it could be a blood sugar thing. I normally have low blood sugar. But he said it could be related to that somehow.

I suffer from regular bouts of labarynthitis and regularly feel dizzy and sick especially if I close my eyes or lie on my back or right side. I don't feel too ill if I lie on my left.
I liken it to feeling drunk.
If I close my eyes I start to sway and feel like I'm going to fall over.

I went to pharmacy with a similar problem . He recommended travel sickness pill half an hour before bed. Only been two days, but so far so good.

I've been suffering with this for 2 years now. Since having my son. At first we thought it was down to the pill. But I came off that and had the nexplanon put in which I've had before with no issues. But the sickness stayed. They thought it was GERD so proscribed omeprazole and domperidon (don't know if that's spelled right). It worked for a bit but didn't take it all away. Then my doctor left and the new one said maybe it's all in my head and it's a stress thing because I have a fear of vomiting also. It's very stressful a doctor suggested doing an endo but that never came about either. I'm just so fed up of feeling sick all of the time. :(.

Hmm, florentina1... I will try the motion sickness pill idea! I do liken my sick feeling to motion sickness. I talked to a friend today and she suggested it may be an inner ear/equilibrium thing. She said maybe when you go from vertical all day to suddenly horizontal it throws something off. That seems to make sense. IF that's it, how would you fix it?!!

Also, for anyone who suffers from random vertigo during the day or night, try this:

I have similar symptoms, sometimes if I eat too much sweets at night even fruits, I notice a drunk nauseous feeling in the morning as if the sugar fermented and made alcohol. I also have ibs symptoms and the dizziness subsides after going number two. I also looked up how to sort of clear the eustachian tubes , it helps a little but sugar level, ibs, eustachian tubes might be connected somehow. Any updates from ppl?

I used to have this, many occasions I had to sleep sitting up. Got diagnosed with acid reflux. I figured out that not eating 2/3 hours before bed helps loads. I can eat things like sweets or small snacks but anything big and heavy is a Nono,
