Chicken Pox on Nappy Rash ...

what do I do for that?

DD's poor bum is quite red but with loads of blisters on it (the pox seem to be clustering around the already nappy rashed skin )

nervous of using any cream in case it irritates the pox (some are popping at the mo)

trying to keep her bum in the open air as much as possible

any suggestions?

baking powder in the bath water will soothe, and help dry up the rask.

bicarb of soda and oatmeal baths a plenty

also cooking salt ( not table salt ) is good in the bath for healing, and it will not sting.

Zinc and Castor Oil cream.

Messy but worth it. As an old hand with chicken pox (me not the kids, I have no immunity to it) I highly recommend it. Better than calamine as it doesn't dry up and cause more itching. Intended to be used as nappy rash treatment so great for doing both jobs at once.

I used to get it from chemist - haven't bought any in ages though so don't know if still available.
