Getting medicine into a toddler

Please, any advice?

my 3 1/2 year ds refuses to take medicine. He is now too old to take it from a syringe (last time we tried the fight made him sick, so counter-productive) and pushes away a spoon.

Sometimes we can put it in a drink, but if he doesn't drink it all, then only half a dose goes in.

ds even refuses if we offer a bribe like a smartie for afterwards.

Help.

I swear by syringes, but found if i pointed it to the back of the throat they were sick, what i tend to do with my two is point to the side of the mouth and then gently rub the throat to start the swallowing reflex, it's always worked with mine, (one who is the same age as yours)

Mothercare do a medicine dummy it looks like a normal dummy but it has a space on the back that you put the medicine in then either they can suck it out or you can press a plunger. I've recently lost mine but it was fantastic while I had it. Not cheap though at £5!
