MyDD2 has had arough time in hospital 2 wks ago with rsv which is also known as Bronchitus - I had never heard of it but it was the most frightening thing ever. She was on oxygen for a week and a horrendous cough and off food. She has been out of hospital for 2wks and seems to be getting low again.....she can't get it again - does anyone know? Why did she get it anyway she is neither premature or small baby - on time and 9lbs 2oz.
Has anyone had this? I am starting to panic she is getting it again.

Was this Bronchitis or Broncholitis?

GS was in hospital at 1 week old with Bronchilitis...on oxygen and fed through a tube. It's just one of those things that some babies get. When GS had it, we were told that there was an 'epidemic' at that time. He's as strong as an ox now and (touch wood) has not had a single chest problem since that incident (he's two today). From what I remember, there is a chance that it can re-occur within a few weeks after the an 'occurance' - if you are concerned, get DD checked out at your GP's. They may be able to reassure you.

not sure about the spelling but it was for babies under 1 - think it was Broncholitis.
Just worried incase she has to go in to hospital again as I have two other children and she would be in for a week again....She has a tooth coming through so I am hoping it is that. May go to the doctor tomorrow.

My dd had it twice too. It's caused by a cold-type virus and loads of people get it but it can develop into bronchiolitis in little ones. Its horrid and you and dd have my sympathy.
