She only fell as a result of leaning against a stairgate that wasn't fastened properly in a doorway but she fell on her face and her nose is bleeding. 5 minutes screaming and she seems fine now, should I be worried? She's happily watching cbeebies. Lot's of screaming in our house as 7yo just thrown almighty strop too. HELP!

she's 1 next week. No bumps. I'm silly to panic aren't I? She seems fine.

WWW, Poor thing - must have been a bit of a shock for her! I would say that if she was screaming directly after the event, then you haven't got too much to worry about. However - it might be worth callnig NHS direct for some advice ad reassurance.

Also consider what surface she hit, ie.e carpet or stone floor. If it was carpet, then again she's probably OK. NHS Direct will no doubt advise you to keep an eye on her throughout the sign for signs of drowsiness, etc.

did she trap anything under the gate? fingers etc?

It was onto a lino floor but she fell on top of a mesh stairgate so I think that cushioned the fall a bit. She didn't even scream for that long so I guess she probably is OK. Have to go to work in a minute so dp will watch out for drowsiness. Mind you, she woke at 5.30am so prob will be drowsy soon, as she normally would.

Just went over to her and she's alert and responded to her name. Gosh, I had probably better get used to it, she's not quite walking and I'm sure this won't be the last time she falls over.

glad she seems ok. might be wise to give her a small dose of paracetamol syrup as he nose will probably be throbbing.
