General health

hand, foot and mouth again! And DD1s immune system

All three of my kids have got this again, they contracted it last term and I had to keep them off school for ages. DS and DD2 are fine with it, a sore mouth and itchy feet and hands but DD1 has a temperture, is shakey, and quite ill. She is quiet and certainly not herself. I can't workout why a simple illness can knock a child about so much. If she gets a cold she is laid up for ages. She is only 4 so I know she not faking it. She has CP and I wonder if her immune system is poor and whether I should get it checked.
When she was 4 months old, DS got croup, she got Bonalitis (sp??) which is the same virus (I was told by the hospital) and ended up in hospital on o2 for a week.

I haven't even gone to the docs. I took DD1 last time and they gave me nothing, just told me to give her calpol and fulids. I knew what it was, this time, as soon as I saw it. DD1 is still very ill.

HF&S is usually quite a mild illness, if she's really poorly with it, mieow, I would take her to see the doctor, just to be on the safe side. I've just spoken to my husband's cousin about this, she has 3 boys with CP and she says she would be down to the GPs like a shot as you can never be too careful. I hope they're all feeling better soon (and you, Aimsmum!)

DD1 has a secondary infection in her throat as well as HF&M. She has been given antibototics.
