I have just got back from the ENT clinic at the hospital after a doctor's referral. I have had a couple of bouts of tonsilitus and various other throat infections/problems over the past 2 or 3 years, I taught through one really bad dose of tonsilitus (silly I know) and it seems to have damage my voice in some way. I have huge problems projecting my voive, especially over the top of the pupils and the noise of the computers, etc (I teach ICT). So doctor referred me...
Had to have a horrid scope camera look down my throat,, via my nose - yuk! But fortunately there is no permanent damage or lumps and bumps there.
Consultant has given me some tablets to try and get rid of acid refluc which I have had since being pg with DD - she's now 2. Is this related somehow???
And he is referring to a speech therapist for voice training - something like singers have apparantly. Anyone had anything similar and know what'll be involved?
Go back to consultant in 2 months.
Any advice on what to expect?
TIA
