Can anyone tell me why my face is twitching so much ?

I think everyone has experienced the odd tic, sort of below the eye when tired ect.
For about a year now i have had this only far worse.It usually starts when i`m a bit stressed but is like the above only exaggerated.It changes places but will last for days or weeks.Sometimes the twitching is so bad it kind of sticks and i have to rub my eye or eyebrow or even slap the area to try and stop it.Other people can see it now and it has started to contort my face on occassions.When i am talking to someone i am now aware of my under eye area twitching away like mad and i have to look away.
Any ideas on how to stop it or why i have it apart from the obvious-stress ect.Anyone else had similar x

sorry, i really don't know. sounds miserable. have you been to the doctors at all?

No i havent really thought to mention it. <br /> Couldnt be anything serious enough i thought.Getting on my nerves now though (excuse the punt !)

my Mum gets this when she is overtired. She cannot stop it either. I watch this thread with interest to see if you get any tips I can pass on.

similar - like a trapped nerve, dosen't last long few days on and off. I wouls see your GP, you may have something causing pressure on the nerve.
