Car sickness

Does anyone have any good tips for car sickness? My 18m old son has started to vomit every time we do a journey over 20 minutes...... not nice! I need help desperately!!!!

I always keep a large lidded container (such as an old icecream carton) in the back of the car just in case. And wipes.

Put his car seat in the middle so he can see through the windscreen.
Try music/story tapes instead of books or toys, so he doesn't look down.
Change of clothes and large towel to put over soggy carseat.
Child sized Seabands worth a try.
No food or drink (especially no milk, i know from bitter experience )
Get rid of any strong smelling airfresheners.

Many thanks for your advice. I tend to travel in the backseat with him clutching plastic bags but I'm petrified he will do it when I am driving and I'll crash! I will see if my chemist has those wrist bands - anything is worth a try!! Thanks!

My DD(8) does not travel well in the mornings, and is always sick if the journey is longer than half an hour. She has NEVER been sick in the car when travelling in the afternoon or evening. We don't have a car, so this is only a problem when travelling with other people, therefore, I always sit in the back with her, armed with nappy bags to be sick in, a packet of baby wipes, a couple of empty carrier bags (to put messy clothes and sick bags in) and a change of clothes! And we try very hard never to travel by car in the mornings, unless absolutely necessary.

My DD has tried EVERY brand of motion-sickness tablets, and NONE of them worked. She has also tried the wristbands and was sick 7 times on that particular journey (it was 3 hours).

A relative suggested putting cotton wool in her ears, but this did not work either.

I always encourage my DD to try and sleep on journeys, as it makes the journey seem to pass quicker.

The only real advice I can give is DEFINITELY NO MILK OR DAIRY PRODUCTS!!!
