HELP? Night Terrors/Nightmares/Hallucinations.....

My 2 year old has just woken up shaking and screaming. (when I say shaking I really mean shaking. She feels a bit hot but not so hot that I think it could be a convulsion or a hallucination.

Is this a night terror?

Can anyone help?

Am looking up convulsions on nhs direct and it seems like one of those. Anyone got any advice?

Rang NHS direct,they told me to ring emergency doctor. Dr said it may have been a very vivid bad dream and to take her back to bed and keep an eye on her.

She seems absolutely fine (if a bit tired) this morning.

no, BoM, she seems absolutely fine this morning. She's normal temp, playing with her brother right now.

No symptoms at all since last night.

I don't know what it was that happened, but it was very scary at the time, but she does seem to be ok now. Will ring the doctor later just to check that they don't want to see her.

Glad she seems better. When 8 mths old gp thought my dd1 had a viral thing, cos she was uncharacteristically fussy. crying suddenly for no reason and a bit hot. I just knew it wasn't that. I was convinced she had a urine infection, but he said no. Then she woke from nap in day so hot, shaking and crying. and it turns out i was right.
I noticed she cried when she was weeing.
Just a thought if she does happen to do it again.
Though it doesn't sound the same.

Exactly the same thing happened to my dd a couple of times at the same age and it was night terrors. The first one was frightening so I know how you feel.

Ledodgy, haven't seen you really since your ds was really ill in hosp, and was a newbie then. Is he better???

Ty bandofmothers. He's better from that but he got a very high temp on Sunday night and was unwell it turns out some of his chicken pox scabs which have long since scabbed over have got infected so he's now on antibiotics and antibiotic cream! He's much better in himself now though.

Er, I've been wondering when I sleep recently as well...

I catch up on Saturdays sometimes. This afternoon I'm planning a nap while the boys sleep (shh, don't tell them or they won't sleep!).

Other than that, occasionally I go to bed when the boys do. But usually I have about 5-6 hours a night.

Wasn't expecting to see someone on last night at that time that I'm used to seeing when I'm up and about.

Was really surprised when a name I recognised answered me.



She's currently trying to open a packet of crisps that I've told her she's not allowed to have as it's nearly dinner time.
