Would it be awful to put some of the other dd's hydrocortizone cream on it that they had for their eczema

Have you tried Metanium among the "different creams"?

Have you changed nappy type/brand?

What about food that could be affecting poo?

I might consider mild HC cream around bum cheeks but staying well away from the sensitive areas.

As you seem to have tried everything else...... have you thought about trying a bourette silk liner in each nappy? They soothe a nappy rash really well, but the downside is they are handwash only.

No, I wouldnt do that. My two are out of the nappy stages now so not sure on the best cream. Although I do remember savlon being recommended and did use it at the time. Can you pop to the chemists for advice?

Silk liners are fabulous at clearing up nappy rash.

my gp gave my lo some caneston hc for his nappy rash.

It may also be worth checking that there isn't any sort of fungal infection that is making it so difficult to get rid of. The doctor can prescribe you with an anti-thrush cream which also has hydrocortisone in it if it is needed.

I would take her to the GP's for some advice. Ds had a nappy rash that wasn't clearing up and it turned out he had impetigo and needed antibiotic cream for it. It cleared up within a couple of days then!

If the skin is broken and she is crying when you wipe it, it could well be impetigo.

my two always get really bad nappy rash when teething and i mean blisters, just keep doing what you are doing a friend of mine took her daughter to a&e with the same thing and the doctor told her that sometimes when teething the poo and wee can be so acidic its like a second degree burn he gave her some cream which helped sorry cant remember the name also told her to alow free time with nappy off

I have been using tots bots and sometimes disposables but there is no difference to her bum whichever one she is in

When DS got bad nappy rash before Xmas the dr. prescribed Timodene cream (think it is mild hydrocortisone/anti-fungal with I think a touch of antibiotic thrown in) cleared the rash up a treat in a day or so. Metanium good for day to day use.
