sore throat and cough

ds has a stinking cold (think everyone has at the mo) anyway he has a sore throat from all the coughing and his voice is really croakey aside from cough meds i was thinking of making him a honey and lemon would that help? hes 23 months

I think it would help lots if he would drink it. I know you're not supposed to give it to under 12 months so think you would be ok. Give him paracetamol too.

Not too sure about cough meds, heard lady in the chemist the other day, telling someone that alot of them, esp if you have asthma, that cough meds just supress the cough which then turns into infection!

thanks musiclover didnt know that all iv been giving him is medised at might to help him sleep and putting vicks on his chest he is getting a bit less snotty as the days pass if hes still the same monday ill take him to the docs

Im a big believer in Honey & Lemon, I suffered 2 weeks ago with bad chest, cough etc, & the Dr recommended me to carry on with the honey, to clear the chest.
Carry on with the vick too, & even put some Karvol in hot water under the bed for the vapour, to help breath.
My DS suffers with Asthma & a friend told me about cough medicines suppressing it, but wasnt sure I believed it or not until I heard the chemist lady say it last week. Anything natural is your best bet, but like you said, if it continues, then take him to the Drs.
