Novasure ablation infection

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. I get extremely anaemic due to heavy periods. Been down the drugs route - no luck. Tried the mirena coil -it fell out in five weeks. Decided for a hysterectomy and was convinced by the hospital to try this novasure ablation which was marvellous and would answer all my problems! Also thought that it would be easier to recover from and no stay in hospital so had to be good.
Had to have a blood transfusion before the op as levels too low, the op went well , but then ended back in hospital for five days due to a blood infection from the op. Just got out of hospital to be told the ablation didn't work due to massive size of womb and when would I like a hysterectomy?
Just needed to write it all down really as it has been a rough couple of weeks! Should have stuck to my original thoughts and now it would all be done.

I wish my local hospital would do the Novasure, it is one of the safest and quickest, and succesful methods of ablation. My hosp still do the hot water balloon method.

Whereabouts are you? I have found it near to me privately, but costs £3500

Go to the American website about `Novasure, they do it in GP surgeries there, as no sedation is really needed!

I live in Bucks.

I'm sure that it is effective for most people , however not for me. Found out today that the ablation caused an infection in my womb which lead to the blood infection. Lucky we caught it early and had 5 days of IV drips.
My dr has recommended a hysterectomy but am worried about recovery time having three children to look after. Any experiences of life after hysterectomy gratefully received.
