I might've had a TIA, what now?

A&E were great today. My symptoms were pins and needles, loss of feeling in my left arm and leg, strange sensation in the left side of my face, very frightening. The blood tests, xray, heart and blood pressure all fine. They gave me spray under my tongue and aspirin to be on going. I had my HRT changed and they think this is linked. I will go to a clinic in a week.or so but am anxious about it happening again. History of stroke in one side of the family in old age and I'm otherwise fit, slim build and a non smoker. Any advice would be appreciated.

My dad had one in 2004, he hasn't had another one or gone on to have a stroke, he does take daily aspirin though.
It is good you are going to clinic and hopefully preventative options will be discussed with you.

What HRT were you on? transdermal is considered safer.

Sorry to hear that OP. That must have been a horrible shocking experience. You sound healthy, Drs would let you know of any lifestyle changes that could be made but you're probably already doing that so now, you've got to move on. Don't let it cast a shadow over your life. You're lucky in many ways, it could have been worse. x

Three weeks into my first pack of Tridestra. I was on another sort for night sweats etc but the premenstrual symptoms issues I'd been glad to see the back of returned, hence the change. I'm 49. Thank you msrissotto, that's what I'm trying to push from my mind. Supposed to be testing but I'm tidying up. Truly th thought my number was up. Only my husband and one close friend knows, I just want to get on with things and I find here is a great place for real life advice until I get to the clinic. I'm not going to Dr Google, too scary!
