For a few weeks my dh (45) has had what we thought was a trapped nerve in his right shoulder. I had a trapped nerve a month or so before, and the symtoms seemed to be the same. He would get up in the morning and then after a short time be in agony. Pain going from his shoulder, down his arm to his elbow and pins and needles in his hand.
We were walking the dog last Sunday and were about 30 mins away from home when he was in agony again. He said he felt like he was going to be sick and the pain was agony. He said his chest hurt but we thought that was from being stressed about the pain. So I said we are going home, and by the time we got back home he was fine again. He did agree to see the gp and phoned up the next morning to make the appointment.
He saw the gp on Wednesday and when he came home he said the gp suspected angina! He had to go in to hospital on Friday for a chest xray and blood tests, and he is being fast tracked for treatment. It appears he could have had a full heart attack at any moment
I felt so guilty when he came back from the gp as I had zero sympathy for him when he was in so much pain on the dog walk but he said not to be. He didn't suspect it would be anything serious.
I am posting this so if anyone else is having pain from their right shoulder down their arms, feel sick and have pain across their chest, to get to the gp. Hopefully it will just be a trapped nerve, but it could be angina.
We don't know what his treatment will be, hopefully 'just' stents, but it really has brought to the fore a sense of mortality.
