Urine retention: Something more serious?

Whilst I am not in any pain, I am experiencing urine retention mainly in the evening when my abdomen is bloated and putting pressure on my bladder.

This has been going on for a while and initially, I thought it was just an infection which the doctor gave me antibiotics for. However, more recently, I have felt my abdomen while lying in bed and it feels lumpy in places. Google brings up a range of causes from fibroids to ovarian cancer.

My guess that it may be ovarian cysts of some kind. In your experience, does it start with needing to go to the loo shortly after you've just been? I know I need to see my gp and I will try to get an appointment soon.

Thank you for reading.

Yes that's the symptoms I had first with my ovarian cyst.

You are justified in asking for an urgent appointment. Urine retention isn't something that can wait.
