Foot smells of fish!

Yesterday for no reason my left foot started to smell of fish. The right one is normal. I don't usually suffer from smelly feet at all. Does anyone know what this might be? The odour isn't so strong that you can smell when I'm wearing shoes, but I can smell it on my sock. It seems to be coming from the area of the ball of my foot. There is a patch of hard skin there, but nothing else I can really see.

Does anyone have any idea what this is and how I get rid of it? I'm worried it might start getting worse and become really strong!

What's the skin on that area like?

i would ask the doctor for a check up if you have not stepped in anything.Weird body odours can be a sign of health problems

The skin is kind of yellowish in colour. The odour is only noticeable when I'm wearing shoes and socks and I guess when my feet are sweating. I'm wearing flip flops at home and there is no smell.
