advice needed please

do you think this could be foot and mouth my ds 6 yrs nearly came down with a cough at the weekend , the cough had then gone but on wednesday he came down with all scabbed in his mouth bit like thrush his lips are swollen and the scabs are now peeling but he cant rally open his mouth , he had high temp sweating , took him to hospital because he then burst blood veals in his eyes from holding the cough's , the drs did blood tests and urine test and said its a viral infection he has medicine been taking that since yesterday afternoon but the spots have now gone in to blisters and are quite a few over his body he picks them then screams they hurt same saying his mouth hurts he wakes a few times in the night , also his eyes now seem to have conjunctivitis's there so red he cant open them fully , after he takes the medicine he seems ok for a while, he cant eat but drinks loads, im quite worried and just thinking is it this ? if so what happens and how long does it take for him to get better ? sorry for this being long his just staying in his room and just seems unwell please help

forgot to say the blisters are on his belly arm's bk few on the face and one on his winky tmi sorry x

thankyou, his eyes are really red, the blisters seem to have burst and gone in to the skin with red circles around the scab if that makes sense , please can some one put me mind at ease im so up set i just want my baby well again x

Sorry, i have no experience of this. You could call NHS direct 0845 4647 for advice.
Just looked in my medical book and it says not to give fruit juice, only milk or water, as the acid in the juice makes a sore mouth worse.

thanks , he just asked for a sandwich but not touched it yet , rang nhs just waiting for a call from the nurse

It sounds like hand, foot and mouth to me. Our DS had it last year and it was horrid but it did start to clear in 4-5 days. He took piriton and the usual Calpol Nurofen concoction!(spell) Best of luck with your little one x

Could it be measles? I know quite rare but may be considered as some similar symptoms. Hope he feels better soon, poor thing.

right went bk to see doctor today , and its chicken pox again so they blistered then the medicine helped them come to a head so a bit scaby now, also the mouth bit is the virus but looking a little better and the eyes are conjunctivitis's so had eye creme for that he is also a little chesty , but when he cough's he spits it out but he is still so unwell we go bk to the hospital on tuesday for a review , i mentioned foot and mouth to the doctor and he assured me its not that because he dont have them on his hands or feet , he just got a really bad virus , just hope the medicine sorts him , he had a little nibble on a chip earlier but it hurt his mouth . ill keep you updated tho thanks everyone x

his eyes look better and his lips are bloody where he pulled the scab, his trying to eat but says his tongue hurts , the spots are still looking like cigarette burns but slowly going , he's still drinking loads , he's coughing a little and the rubbish is still coming away , seems to have a little more energy his been on the floor playing and changed a dvd how silly does that sound ?? but he couldn't really do that b 4 , back to the hospital tomorrow for the review so need loads of good luck vibes if i can please. but over all seems to be a little better thankyou for asking it means alot x

poor little tinker, sounds like he's better but what a virus! Will he eat jelly or custard or yoghurt or soup, something that won't hurt so much to eat?

no i tryed him with yogurt and soup he will have a little bit on the spoon then say it hurts , i even said ill put soup in a mug but he wont hav any off it , seems more happier tho chatting again , and trying to eat little bits x
