weird eye growth.

Spotted a small growth thingy in the corner of my eye, which grew fairly quickly. It was a pain because it kept getting caught in my eye. It felt like a bit of dirt or grit had got in my eye. It wasnt big enough for any one to notice, just be a irritant for me.
Flash forward to saturday and I thought it had grown bigger and was poking out the corner of my eye, I just ignored it as had a busy day.
By the evening i glanced in mirror and saw it hanging on a thin thread out my eye about the size of grain of rice. So I pulled it off.
It hurt and my eye bleed in the corner.
Woke this morning with a glued up eye and its a bit swollen.
So, anyone think I did the right thing? And what should i do now?

I have a very big 'do' coming up this week, and the last thing I want is a bleeping red swollen eye in the photos!

I would ask an optician to look at your eyes further.

Sounds like it might be a pterygium - it needs looking at by an optician in the first instance (like tomorrow) and they will refer you on if necessary

have brought some eye drops and will make an appointment to get it checked. looks like its just an infection now.

Sudocrem might be a bit tingly in the eye area, to say the least
