Is it normal to have raging temp with sickness bug ??

When I went to collect Ds from nursery, they had been trying to ring me as ds had been violently sick and had diorreah (can't spell that).

He was absolutly zonked out fast alseep on the floor of the nursery and me and a friend had to carry him all the way home.

I gave him ibuprofen at 4:00 and he went straight back to sleep. He did seem to cool down again but has since woke up again and is now still quite hot. My thermometer isn't working so I can't tell how hot exactly.

He has had a tiny sip of water and is now lying on the sofa watching tv. He seems a bit more chirpy, but cries if I move him about at all.
I have asked him if it hurts anywhere and he pointed to his throat but it doesn't look red at all and he seems to be swallowing fine.

Any ideas on what it could be ?? Have never had any of them have a sick bug and temp all at the same time.

My two usually have a temp if they're sick. Have you given him paracetamol as well? You can give that at the same time as ibuprofen.

No not yet, my friends gonna send her dh out to get some for me when he gets in from work.

Feel so sorry for him, he just whimpered and groaned all the way home.

He has perked up enough to start talking to me about Darleks though so he must feel slightly better LOL.

I gave him the calpol and he had 2 dry crackers as he said he was hungry but he has just brought it all back up .

Am hoping and praying that no one else gets it now but I know it is very possible.

Well he was a bit sick again at about 10pm last night and we had a very restless night as he was very hot and very thirsty so kept waking up.

Since waking today he has had a bit of toast and some more crackers and some water.

He was absolutly fine but is now very hot and bright red again. Have just settled him down on the sofa, hoping he will have a nap.

He looks so fed up

Could be, although he hasn't once mentioned his throat today so I think it must just be a bug.

He is dosed up and happy at the mo

I was going to suggest it may be tonsillitis too. My DS used to suffer from this a lot up until the age of 5, and he would always be sick with it.

Once my DS was throwing up for 5 days & I thought he had a nasty tummy bug. I took him to the gp & was told he had tonsillitis. He hadn't complained his throat hurt at all, he just seemed very unwell.
