How 'well' will I be after a cystoscopy?

I don't really do well with sedation or anaesthetics

& I have a party about 5 hours away 2 days later

So I think I may cancel the party - or is it a walk in the park?

I've had several cystoscopies and have always been absolutely fine afterwards, but then anaesthetic doesn't really have an ill effect on me (except once, but out of around 18 operations I don't think that one episode of vomiting is too bad!).

I have bled a couple of weeks later after one, they don't always tell you that, but its perfectly normal, can just be scabs falling off etc apparently.

Personally I'd be fine with the party, but obviously you'll have to see how you feel. The cystoscopy doesn't take very long, so you won't be under for very long and therefore quite a light does of anaesthetic.

I think you should be fine two days later. I had one and felt very green the rest of the day - looked ashen and felt nauseous. After a day on the sofa I was back to normal.

Ok thanks for replying

TBH I couldn't travel now & all I have is a urine infection (but I am on my second lot of anti-biotics)

I'll have to see how it goes

OK I've reacted fairly badly to the anaesthetic but I'm OK now

But I also think I have a urine infection & I feel like crap

Hope you feel better soon. I had a cystoscopy a couple of weeks back. The first couple of times I went for a wee afterwards it really stung but then it was ok. I'm so pleased I had the anaesthetic as I'm such a whimp about these things!
