How long do the pox spots keep coming for?

14 month old ds was diagnosed with chicken pox last monday he had around 7 spots on his neck , side of his face and a couple on his arm. Tbh I wasn't sure it was chicken pox when I took him to the dr as he has a rash on hisbody and face that was raised , dry and pimply. The dr said this was probably a viral rash but the spots looked like chicken pox..he looked at them with his special scope thing. Ds has been fine in himself he ahs a bit of a cough and is a bit snotty but is eating fine. By the middle of last week he had a couple more spots and all these look liked they were crusting over/dried up. I've just noticed at least 5 more spots on his shoulder, arm and tummy that are fresh and blistered. It's been seven days can this happen?

In hindsight, I realised that dd's first chicken pox spot was there about four days before the rest of them - I thought it was just a zit on her back that had rubbed on the waistband of her trousers. Once the other spots started coming, she was getting fresh ones for about 4 or 5 days - the very last ones didn't blister.

Urgh he just knocked the huge one on his wrist and it burst and went all over me! If I don't get them after this I am definately immune!

I've just read that if you get chicken pox as an adult you can get antiviral medicine acyclovoir to take a course of as soon as you spot a spot as it were to lessen the severity. Quite by chance I have taken a course of this medicine a few months ago to prevent cold sore outbreaks in the next 12 months. I'm hoping this will prevent me from getting the pox or if I do will lessen the severity.
