But will the garlic treatment or canesten pessaries work if I am bleeding?

Yes, the pesseries work, but perhaps a tampon would be best to hold it in place for a longer time IYSWIM.

canestan do a tablet called oral and crean duo that you just take the one tablet and you get the cream as well , went through a phase of getting thrush all the time due to my pill and I had this tablet and it worked

The oral Canesten tab is fluconozole (same as diflucan) so I would prefer not to take it.

Generally I find that if I treat with Garlic early on, I seem to get rid fairly soon. Thats why I dont want to wait 3 days for my period to finish.

I'll probably try the garlic clove tonight, see if it works

Biotic yogurts as in live yogurts are reputed to work if taken at either end. I have just started a course of antibiotis so I best buy the yogurt in.

I have been taking probiotic capsules for a whiole, but ran out a couple of weeks ago, and had a sugar binge mid last week!!

Fluconazole works a treat though - one dose isn't likely to do too much to your liver.

Peel a garlic clove. Prick it with a pin a couple of times and drop a few drops of tea tree oil into it. Thread a length of cotton through it (for easy retrieval) then put it in your fanjo overnight.

That'll see to the thrush.

To make sure it stays away, take a course of good pro biotics (acidophulus bifodus) and cut out all sugar and all yeasty foods for the time being. (Esepcially wine and bread and biscuits). Also no dried fruit or mushrooms or nuts (because these all have spores on).

Yoghurt must be live to do any good. Apply it locally or eat it in generous quantities.

I tried everything before trying this method and it worked overnight. My midwives told me about it.

It doesn;t matter what size the clove is and just make the cotton long enough to hang out (like a tampon).

Worth ago but I would warn your feller not to be attempting cunnilingus.

Thrush is awful, but to add insult to injury by being on your period, too?

Well, I shoved up a garlic clove on monday night, removed of course tues morning, then last night I shoved up another clove, with added teatree oil (good job dh is away, I must have smelled AWFUL).

have used clotrimazole cream (like canesten) 3 times a day for 2 days . Does anyone else find that itches like hell for about 10 mins after application?

I feel ok. Do you reckon I might have seen it off good and proper this time?

Asked dh to use canesten cream on his willie for a couple of days too.

2 days of cream is not enough to cure thrush even though symptoms have improved. I am sure it is 10 days

Thanks mears, I'll carry on with the cream for a few more days then.

Hopefully using garlic treatment for 2 nights has had a good effect anyway.
