Blisters on sole of foot

For the last couple of years I have been getting blisters on the sole of one foot that feel really itchy and then harden over, crack and then the skin peels.

One doctor advised it is a form of excema and gave hydrocortisone cream another that it was athletes foot and have an anti fungal cream. However I still have this problem and the creams are not working.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Is it dyshidrotic eczema? Fluid filled blisters that can be quite painful, then they scab, then the whole scab and surrounding skin flakes off. I haven't found any eczema cream or ointment to work - a couple of years ago someone suggested vicks, but I'm not sure it has any magical properties - I think it maybe helps due to general moisturising. I think it possibly helps a bit though - you have my sympathies.

Someone else suggested tea tree oil as a treatment, but haven't tried it yet.

I have them at the moment. Mine dyshidrotic eczema and they are very itchy and painful.
I do burst the blusters with a pin and take painkillers as itching comes from the same place as pain receptors and itching stops after about 20 minutes.

Yes dyshidrotic excema is what one dr suggested.

Do you find you always have a blister on your foot or do they go completely at times?

I also got it on my fingers as well but that was once a month about a week before my period. It then moved to my feet and it gets a lot worse in the summer. I havent had it on my fingers for a few years now.

Seem to have developed quite a few new blisters in the last couple of weeks. They are mainly along the side of my foot, a couple under the hard skin on my heel and a couple at the base of my big toe.

Its also genetic, my mum had it on the palms of her hands and my niece has it on her hands as well.

I also get it on my fingers little clear blisters down the edges of my fingers but these only come when it gets hot and then they go within the week. Whereas on my feet I always have a blister on the soles of my feet at some time.

They go completely at times, got a couple at flaky stage at the side of my foot at the moment, but nothing new showing yet. Try the vicks thing, or any other heavy moisturiser - it might help, it might not, but at least your feet will look better.

Bruffin - I haven't correlated it with monthly cycle, might start writing everything down to see if that is a factor.
