Heavy period - at a wedding! Help

Ok so I'm at a wedding tomorrow, period has arrived later than planned (annoying timing) I've bought some Cyklo F / tranexamic acid from chemist.

Today it is pretty heavy but may possibly be worse tomorrow. Am I best taking it today and tomorrow or just coping today (which is fine I can) and hoping that a lot of the worst is over and then just take tablets tomorrow?

How do they work? Do they take time to build up or work immediately?

AF isn't horrendously heavy but normally each month there's one or two days where I have to use pad and tampon and change every one or two hours. The rest of it is normal but it's just highly annoying that it's come at this time! Also have period pains today which is adding to annoyance!!

I find that changing tampon every hour helps soak it up more quickly.

I would start the tablets now and take them tomorrow too.

Bloody periods ( pun intended!)

Ok thanks. What about side effects, I took them a few years back and was sure I felt really tired using them...but can't remember if I am confusing them with feminax pain killer. They're not so painful now so can cope with just ibuprofen which is something but kind of don't want to feel exhausted all day. I actually already do as was woken at 4am by DD2!!!!

My dose was 2 tablets of TA (sorry can't remember the mg) 3 times a day. Take them asap, I think they take a few hours to work so start now & go until tomorrow.
Good luck & have a great day!

I took those pills once but they made me throw up, I know they can cause side effects which may not be good if you are at a wedding. Poor you. X
