Week 23 - Build Healthy and Supportive Relationships

The only way to have a friend is to be one

Supportive, healthy relationships play an important part to our emotional health and well-being. Studies show that people with healthy relationships are happier and have less stress than those who don't. Is a matter of fact, healthy relationships can have a greater impact on our well-being than diet, exercise, stress, smoking, drugs, and even genetics. In a study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology, it was shown that individuals who lacked social and community ties were two to three times more likely to die prematurely than those who were well connected.

The Change

Cultivate healthy and supportive relationships, while minimising those that are toxic.

They do come round quickly don't they? I just wrote a message on the last thread for you margaritas.

Thanks nightwanderer.

This is fairly easy for me as I have built up a really good network of friends over the years.
I haven't made much effort with neighbours etc. since we moved so will make a couple of calls this week Smile

Thank you!
It's good to be reminded sometimes :)
I am going to send a card to a friend who's had an achievement, meet my closest friends and see who I have 'forgotten' lately :)

I lost everyone again Blush. But I low carb, so I definitely don't do low fat dairy!

This one is appropriate as I have just finished a Headspace pack on relationships. It helps you to let go of difficult relationships mentally, as well as being open to good relationships.

That's good quirky.

I've been trying to spread my social circle. I don't have a lot of free time but I'm trying to make time.

Well, I had a very sociable week and saw people and had fun. So that's good :)
What are we doing next week?

A good week; I spoke to one old friend on the phone, saw one for lunch on Thursday, two for lunch yesterday and another one last night.

However, I did cock up DH birthday!
I thought it was tomorrow but it's today! Blush
